If you’re careless enough to leave files with weird file extensions around, the software will help you fix that.
While it’s not immediately clear where this extra functionality fits within the submenus, I was able to find it easily once I got into the more detailed menus. The ability to cut out the profiles in the Lens Correction tools is important. Without it, the Lens Correction software actually does nothing for images that display out of focus areas. There’s a noticeable performance improvement when it comes to high-resolution JPEGs; I’m not sure what that even means for other file types. I’d like to see the Raw functions get a bump as well.
Photoshop CS6 is likely to be distributed as a bundle of modules of the functions required to address the large numbers of images and other simple text.
